The Shire of Morawa prides itself on offering visitors a clean and welcoming environment and this hybrid role that combines Caravan Park Caretaker and Lead Cleaner duties provides an excellent opportunity for the right individual to continue to enhance the appearance and cleanliness of facilities across the Shire.
The Morawa Caravan Park is generally at its busiest from June to October when the wildflowers are in season, but visitors can be expected year-round with more modest cleaning and visitor servicing requirements during the summer months. The Caravan Park has an onsite Caretakers Office to allow for a work environment that is close to customer needs. This role will appeal to travellers or those wanting to escape the City life and live in a RV or Caravan style accommodation as the Shire is willing to offer free powered site use.
As Lead Cleaner, this role will be responsible for rostering, managing, and supervising the Shire’s cleaning team and performing cleaning duties as operationally required, both at the caravan park and throughout the Shire, to ensure all facilities are cleaned to a high standard.
This position is on a fixed term basis with varied hours to reflect the tourist season and demands with the total remuneration package worth between $50,000 - $60,000 inclusive of a cash component and other benefits.
From approximately November to May each year the role will perform part time hours of approximately 25 hours per week (Mon-Sat). Due to the Wildflower Season, the Caravan Park is particularly busy between June and October each year, as such an extra Tourist Season allowance will be offered to cover call outs and extra weekend work during this period. During this period, it is expected that the role would undertake 38-45 hours each week, 12 out of 14 days each fortnight.
A caravan site will be made available free of charge. The employee is to provide their own accommodation on the site. Water and power will be provided to the site free of charge. Those with their own accommodation away from the Caravan Park will also be considered, as long as they are close enough to respond to issues and man the onsite office at appropriate times.
The Shire is open to working with an individual or couple and may consider other proposals with the right candidate.
If you have a high attention to detail, exceptional people skills, and have an appreciation of country living and the needs of tourists, then this could be the role for you.
Applicants who can demonstrate prior experience in a similar role and exhibit good people management skills will be highly regarded.
