About The Role Anglicare is looking for a Senior Practitioner – Placements & Permanency to complete high-quality assessments efficiently to increase the number of carers in the program and to progress the permanency outcomes of guardianship or adoption for children and young people. This is a Maximum Term (till September 2025- with potential to extend) full time (option for part-time) role based at Telopea. Responsibilities (not limited to): Respond to enquiries of people wishing to foster or adopt in a timely way and providing accurate information. Supporting prospective carers through all stages of the recruitment process. Ensures assessment of kin carers, foster carers and dually authorised carers are undertaken with a focus on meeting the needs of a child, and that reports are thorough, well-written and completed in a timely manner. Complete assessments for kin care, foster care and dual authorisation, drawing on multiple sources of evidence and using critical reflection to make recommendations. Complete probity and suitability checks as required. Work within the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for carer recruitment. Create carer development plans with carers to provide them with ongoing support. Respond to placement enquiries and make placements. Keep in touch with foster carers to understand their ongoing availability. Complete annual reviews for foster carers across the program. Review readiness for adoption and guardianship, with foster care teams and permanency co-ordinators, and monitor progress of tasks. Complete assessments and court work for guardianship or adoption applications for children and young people. Provide mentoring to case manager in areas for practice growth and development Fulfil delegated responsibilities by Team Leader related to tracking of progress of carers through the recruitment pathway Participate in supervision and ongoing professional development as agreed with Team Leader Requirements: Must hold tertiary qualifications in social work, social sciences, psychology, community services or equivalent.
