Work locations

We have work sites spread across the Blue Mountains with most conveniently located close to public transport.  

Our Head Office is located in Katoomba, with an additional Business Information Centre based in Springwood.  

We have two works depots located in Katoomba and Springwood, and two Waste Management Facilities located in Katoomba and Blaxland.  

Council has five leisure and aquatic centres located in Glenbrook, Springwood, Lawson, Katoomba and Blackheath.  

Our six libraries are located in Springwood, Katoomba, Blaxland, Lawson, Wentworth Falls and Blackheath.  

Our two visitor information centres are based at Glenbrook and Katoomba.  

Our Cultural Centre is located in Katoomba and our Theatre and Cultural Hub located in Springwood.

Hours of work

Fulltime employment is 35 hours per week with start and finish times varying depending on the position and work location.  

Fulltime employees are entitled to a fortnightly rostered day off (RDO).

Online learning and professional development

All staff have access to the online learning system ‘Foundations’. It’s a great system, designed to make it easier for staff to access mandatory they need to complete, and pursue professional development throughout their career at Council.

Foundations can be accessed from anywhere, including mobile devices. This makes it a game-changer for providing learning and professional development opportunities to outdoor staff who don’t have access to a computer, and those working remotely.

There’s also an easy to use suggestion and course development request feature, to allow for continuous growth and improvement.
