About the Role:
The Team Leader Maternal and Child Health Enhanced is an exciting leadership role to ensure the City of Ballarat Maternal and Child (MCH) Enhanced team are well placed in a period of change to embrace future growth and new partnership initiatives that support early parenting and vulnerable families from within the Family, Youth and Children’s Services Business Unit.
We are seeking an experienced MCH Nurse, with a background working with highly complex families and children at risk. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of MCH nurses, immunisation nurses and a social worker and will be well supported by other nursing leaders. You will provide clinical leadership, you will be part of and lead the implementation of best practice initiatives including with a range of community and health partners, you will provide staff support and contribute to the strategic implementation of the City of Ballarat’s Council Plan and Municipal Early Years Plan.
This role involves working alongside the other Council teams, in particular the Universal Maternal Child Health and Supported Playgroups with a focus to supporting children at risk and strengthening parenting capacity. The role includes a wide range of partnership and collaborative activities with stakeholder agencies, in particular Child Protection and family violence agencies.
A background or qualification in leadership, management or human services would be highly desirable in addition to an understanding of policy initiatives occurring within the Enhanced MCH program.
