As the People & Culture Officer, you’ll be at the heart of our dynamic People & Culture team. No two days are the same in this exciting role. You’ll be tasked with providing high level support to the People & Culture Coordinator across the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to offboarding.

You’ll take the lead on Councils Onboarding and Induction program, creating a positive first impression for new employees and ensuring they’re set up for success from day one. You’ll also be instrumental in collaborating with the People & Culture Coordinator on wellbeing initiatives that make Murray River Council a great place to work.

You will play a critical role in supporting our HR operations by managing administrative tasks, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating smooth communication across various departments. Your attention to detail and organisational skills will help ensure that our HR processes run efficiently and effectively.

Additionally, this role will extend administrative support in matters related to workplace health and safety, including Workers' Compensation and Return to Work procedures.

To be successful in this role you will require:

• Minimum Certificate IV in Human Resources and/or 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.

• A strong enthusiasm for learning and willingness to contribute to the continuous improvement of P&C services, workflows, processes, and systems.

• Ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, judgement, initiative, and sensitivity in the performance of duties and dealings with employees and members of the public.

• Commitment to undertaking continuing professional development.

• Return to Work and Workers Compensation experience is highly desirable.

• Current Driver’s Licence

• National Police Check
