About the Job

There is an exciting oppurtunity with the Human Resources Team for a Workplace Health and Safety Officer. The WHS Officer monitors working conditions and resolves any safety issues that may arise. They ensure all employees complete their work safely, set safety standards for the workplace based on legal and statutory requirements and train employees to help them understand the requirements of the job and workplace. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Inspect and monitor workplaces via observations and site inspections to identify potential hazards and advise on safe working practise aimed at minimising accidents in the workplace.
• Assist with the compilation of all WHS data to be reflected in reporting and agendas.
• Assist in the preparation of WHS documentation and maintaining accurate records on safety systems for certifications, compliance, audits and monitoring, meeting minutes and actions as required.

This is a permanent full-time position, working 38 per week.  

About you 

In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you must have:

• Qualification in Workplace, Health and Safety or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Ability to perform on-site inspections to ensure legislative complaince, compliant record keeping, follow up and reporting.
• Well developed verbal and written communication skills.

Benefits

Salary: $78,397.00 or 83,700.00 per annum, dependant on qualifications and experience
