About the Opportunity

The Community Activation Officer is responsible for providing support to the Community Activation and Events Coordinator to assist in strengthening community relations, engagement and project manage key community initiatives and programs. You will play a lead role in achieving operational goals that improve our active vibrant communities and provide great liveability.

This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary as directed by Council. The key ones include:

 Boosting social connectivity across the Western Downs region through better engagement and community relations;

 Building community capacity to foster pride and local leadership that allows communities to take responsibility for their own development and future sustainability; and

 Empowering and activating our communities through local event delivery and community group event support.

About Yourself

A person in this position will need to hold a qualification in Community Development or similar in a related field OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have or be able to obtain a working with children Blue Card. The successful candidate must have a Yellow Card as required under the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013.

Salary Packaging Available

Leave Loading

You will receive 17.5% leave loading on top of your base rate of pay, while you are on Annual Leave.

Relocation Assistance
